1935 - 2003 STURBRIDGE - Reverend Donald V. Dube, 68, of 51 Caron Road, died Tuesday [December 16] at home.

Born in Chicopee Falls, he had graduated from Seminaire de Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada in 1955. He received his degree in Philosophy in 1957 from Seminary of Philosophy, Montreal, Canada, and Theology degree from Grand Seminary in Montreal in 1961. He was ordained May 27, 1961 in St. Michael's Cathedral, Springfield by the late Most Reverend Christopher J. Weldon, D.D., Bishop of Springfield.

Fr. Dube was Assistant Pastor at
St. Ann's Church, Fairview in 1961,
St. Joseph's Church, Springfield 1961 - 1966,
Sacred Heart Church, Northampton, 1966-1967,
St. Rose de Lima, Aldenville, 1967 - 1973,
Saint George Church, Chicopee, 1973 - 1978,
St. Joseph's Church, Springfield in 1975.

Fr. Dube was Paster of
Notre Dame Church, North Adams, 1978- 1982,

and was appointed Campus Minister at North Adams State College 1978-1982, and was appointed Dean of Northern Berkshire Deanery by Bishop Joseph Maguire from 1981 - 1982.

He was also Paster of
St. John the Baptist Church, Ludlow, 1982-1990, and the
Notre Dame Church, Easthampton, 1990-1994.

Fr. Dube served on the Diocesan Building Commission 1988-1989.

Fr. Dube leaves brothers Rene L. Dube of Wilbraham, Paul N. Dube of Chicopee and a sister, Sister Estelle R. Dube of Petersham, Mass. He leaves his Godmother, Gertrude LaBelle of Chicopee and several nieces and nephews, and several grand nieces & nephews. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m. in St. George Church, Chicopee. Visiting hours will be Friday 2-4 p.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee. Fr. Dube will lie in state in St. George Church from 7-9 p.m. Friday evening. Burial will be in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery. Contributions: Sisters of the Assumption Retirement Fund, 211 North Main St., Petersham, MA 01366.
